COInsur. Speaking at the IWDC about “Enthusiastic Customers”, how you see Insurance industry should face clients?
RS. To put it into a nutshell: Fairly and therefore as partners. Especially in an industry whose business model is built on long lasting relationships it makes absolutely no sense to try to maximize short term profit at the expense of clients. Looking back on over 100 years of experience the Allianz Group recognizes that our success story is simply the story of exceptionally satisfied customers.
CoInsur. How do you see the future of insurance industry, where is it going?
RS. In the meantime it is common sense that the insurance industry faces tremendous challenges which will affect all areas – and in some cases even transform the way how we do business. This conference tackles quite some of these, eg. changes in regulation, technology and customer mindsets. The decisive question is, if the insurance industry is willing to understand these challenges in their fullness and has then the courage to act even though this would mean to leave the “comfort zone”. The ones bright enough for this journey will outperform the market as they will come up with adding value propositions for a society in the light of rising uncertainties.
