COI. How does Sentiance SaaS platform work to collect sensor data from smartphones and IOT devices?
BB. Sentiance captures smartphone sensor data (i.e. gyroscope, accelerometer and GPS) through an SDK implemented in an Insurer’s host app. Non-smartphone sensor data (e.g. smart home sensor data) is ingested through use of proprietary IOT cloud platforms. Sentiance artificial intelligence platform then uses this sensor data to build behavioral profiles of connected users and to enrich those profiles with personalized, predictive and context-aware services.
COI. How can Sentiance Platform help Insurance Companies?
BB. Sentiance is active on several fronts in the insurance space. Firstly, Sentiance works with UBI car insurers, offering smartphone-based pay-as-you-drive or pay-how-you-drive insurance; similar to hardware dongle solutions but faster to deploy and easier to maintain. Secondly, Sentiance helps health insurers to get a better understanding of the risk and lifestyle of their customers and to help insurers coach policy holders to lead a healthier life based on their individual health profiles. Thirdly, Sentiance is active in the home insurance and remote patient care space by monitoring home sensors and detecting anomalies (e.g. burglary, fire, patient leaving the home unexpectedly). And finally, Sentiance helps with the actual customer engagement, providing the right time and context to target customers.
COI. Are the Companies prepared to implement tailored solutions?
BB. Sentiance is a pure B2B-player active in multiple industries. Most of our customers have very specific use cases which require tailored solutions. We help our customers narrow down their use case, walk their integration team through the whole implementation and when necessary help them better understand the data to take full advantage of the richness of the profiles.
COI. Can you give us examples of how Sentiance technology is already being applied in the insurance sector?

Publicly available information: Car insurance: PingJia Technologies in China & RiSK in the Netherlands. Health insurance: several European, American and Asian health insurers. COI. In which countries you see more developed this technology?
BB. In Europe, we see highest adoption in the Nordics, UK, Benelux, Germany and Switzerland.
COI. You will join as an expert in Insurance World Challenges 18, what reasons do you see to attend this event?
